Obstetric Shared Care
Dr Emily Kilner, Dr Niamh and Dr Kristin are all accredited to provide obstetric shared care. This means that you can have the majority of your antenatal appointments with your regular general practitioner – allowing after hours and weekend appointments at a time and location convenient for you. It also means that you will see the same person for the majority of your care, ensuring continuity of care for you and your baby.
Long Acting Reversible Contraception including IUD (Mirena)
Long acting reversible contraception includes the Implanon and IUD (Mirena, Kyleena and copper). These devices provide highly reliable contraception with a typical use reliability of 99.8%, as compared with the oral contraceptive pill which has a typical use reliability of 91%. Once inserted these devices provide protection for either 3 years (Implanon) or 5 years (Mirena, Kyleena) and require no ongoing care.
All of our doctors are accredited to insert and remove the Implanon.
Dr Kristin & Dr Emily Kilner are accredited to insert intrauterine devices. If you already have a regular General Practitioner, we can insert your IUD for you and then refer you back to your regular GP.
If you would like to consider the insertion of a Mirena or copper IUD we ask that you make a single appointment (if a current patient, double if new to practice) with Dr Kristin or Dr Emily Kilner. During this appointment they will ensure an IUD is appropriate for you, arrange relevant testing as required (cervical screening, swabs), discuss insertion and provide you with a script for the device. The IUD will be inserted at a second double appointment. Please call us to discuss your needs and for information on fees associated with insertion.
We have an in-house pathology service provided by Clinpath.
They are open Monday to Friday 8.30am – 12.30am and Saturday 8.30am – 11.30am
All pathology forms are accepted.
